a ma'am about town

Spring is starting to...spring! Temperatures have been pretty consistently in the 40s and the air is starting to smell more earthy and alive. Love it. While on our errands yesterday, we walked past a garden with pops of green foliage here and there -- nothing new, but plants that had lived through the winter, including this magnificent rose bush that was at least as tall as I am. I looked for daffodil and tulip spikes, but didn't see any, though I'm not sure any bulbs were planted there to begin with.

Our errands took us all over Morningside Heights, and we enjoyed some delicious burgers for lunch at Bistro 1018. Thank goodness we don't have to wait nearly an hour at Shake Shack for a good burger anymore (nobody here beats their frozen custard, though). I picked up my new glasses too -- haven't had a new pair in 10 years! Behold, the new look:

How jealous we are of you with tantalizing spring breezes to enjoy...We are Very Cold here in Wisconsin...Into the snowsuit for Abigail before we go pick up Wendy today. I wonder if I will know how to act when the ground isn't covered with snow!
